Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dismantled railway 3. On the other side of the fence on the right amidst thick undergrowth is the embankment of the former Great Central Railway, which when it opened in 1899 was the last main line double track railway to be built, see 951569. Another 200m along the fence - there is no footpath - the railway crossed what was then the Oxford to Bletchley railway line by a bridge, which has long since been removed, see 1284742. This section of the line was closed in 1966.
