English: Dish, footed, with dark blue band and raised scalloped edge, painted flowers on `centre and exterior. part of service set sent by donor's grandfather. buried at Hawera and looked after by "friendly Maoris" during Taranaki War, 1862. The term "Coalbrookdale is traditionally associated with a decorative class of ornamental porcelain encrusted with modelled flowers, etc in relief. This type of porcelain was mainly produced betwenn 1820 and 1840, but some pieces were made either before and after this period.
