This case shows, besides tlie well-known Hutchinson triad (parenchymatous keratitis,otitis and Hutchinson teeth), a marked protrusion ofthe frontal protuberances, saddle nose and radiatingscars about the mouth. Gumma of tlie Tongue In the middle of the tongue, extending almostthrough its entire length, is a deep linear scar witha number of radiating scars. The patient, sixteenyears old, who denied ever having contracted syphilis,was admitted to the hospital for gonorrhoea. On theroot of the nose was a typical gummatous ulcer about2.5 cm in diameter, which had existed for about twomonths. Two years previously he had ulcers on thetongue, all but one of which had healed completely.The Wassermann reaction was positive. Since the other stigmata of heredosyphilis are ab-sent and the family history is negative regardingsyphilis, the diagnosis of syphilis acquired in early lifemight be made, but the diagnosis of heredo
