es, etc., in thestomach. Regarding the presence of sugar in the urine of rabid dogs, thatcannot be said to be of special significance, as it is found to be presentin other diseases. The presence of the corpuscles of Negri in a suspectedanimal, on the other hand, must be regarded as a diagnostic symptom ofgreat importance, particularly as it is a means of making a quick diag-nosis. The horn of Ammon is where these corpuscles are found in thelargest quantities, and it requires one to be thoroughly familiar withthese bodies to recognize them quickly and easily. They arefound in particles of the horn of Ammon fixed in Zenkers fluid, andtreated with a 10 per cent, solution of osmic acid, then washed thoroughlyand then laid in absolute alcohol; this method has the disadvantage of tak-ing some time to accomplish it. The method of Bohne seems to be the mostdesirable. Mode of procedure: sections one-half to three-fourths mm.thick are cut from the horn of Ammon and put in 15 c.c. of acetone and
