Title |
Disc (umbonate)PLATE BROOCH |
||
Description |
English: Copper alloy enamelled domed disc brooch with projections. Missing pin, catchplate, one side knob, damaged and corroded margins. The pin was hinged on 2 close set lugs; the projection over the hinge probably had a loop but this is missing, and the other two projections are plain knobs. At the centre of the disc a single dot with no surviving enamel; around this a ring of 14 triangles with blue enamel in some alternate ones (there could have been a second colour alternating) and an outer ring also 14 triangles with blue enamel in alternate cells. Length 30mm, plate height 6mm. Type as Hattatt no. 128. |
