Deutsch: Die Kl�ster Dionysiou und Dochiariou befinden sich auf dem Berg Athos in Griechenlands, wo sich zahlreiche Kl�ster nach dem griechisch-orthodoxen Ritus niedergelassen haben. Die Klosteranlagen von Dionysiou als auch von Dochiariou enthalten Fresken zur Apokalypse, die kompositorisch in Abh�ngigkeit zueinander stehen. Die jeweils 21 Bilder stammen aus der zweiten H�lfte des 16. Jahrhunderts. Bei den Bilderzyklen muss von einer Kenntnis der Apokalypsedarstellung von Hans Holbein ausgegangen werden. Bis zu diesen Darstellungen war in der orthodoxen Kirche die Apokalypse kaum bildlich thematisiert worden, doch mit Dionysiou setzt eine neue Tendenz ein. |
