Original description: Dinting station - main line platforms and signalbox The former Manchester-Penistone-Sheffield main line's platforms at Dinting were barely used after closure of the line east of Hadfield in 1981. As a consequence Dinting's signalmen rarely caught more than a fleeting glimpse of the trains they controlled as they used the other two sides of the unusual triangular layout en route between Manchester and Hadfield. |
