- This is not a picture of the cowrie shells species used as money: Cypraea moneta. Only one shell, the little white shell in the middle of the left side of the picture, may be an specimen of the moneta species used as currency. As it is, this is a misleading picture and should be replaced with a more appropriate (accurate) picture.
