59ß Experimentelle Syphilis. E. Hoi'fmann konnte die Impfung bis zur 19. Passage fortsetzen. In den euukleierten Augen waren lebende Spirochäten im Dunkelfeld gut sichtbar; in nach Levaditi gefärbten Präparaten finden sich z. B. nacli (Irouven 8 Monate nach der Impfung ungezählte Massen von Spirochäten. Histologisch besteht die Infiltration der Kornea nach Grouven aus Plasraazellen, mononukleären und polynukleären Leukozyten. Stellenweise finden sich Nekrosen; das Epithel ist, wo es nicht fehlt, wie im Zentrum, abgeplattet. Die Gefäße sind wenig verändert. Das histologische Fijnir 1G6. m^.

Babuin, geimpft an rechter Augenbraue, Lid und Vorhaut mit mensclilichem l^rimäraffekt. Nur an den Augenbrauen entstanden in der 3. Woche Papeln. Das Bild ist in der 5. Woche aufgenommen, als die Papeln an den Augenbrauen zurückgingen und au Bauch, Brust und Oberschenkeln ein allgemeiner Ausbruch der Sekundärpapelu erschien (nach Siegel). P)ild entspricht der kongenitalen syphilitischen parenchymatösen Keratitis. Berta- relli impfte von der Keratitis des Kaninchen mit Eifolg Affen kutan und intra- korneal. Audi Meerschweinchen waren für die Impfung des Auges mit einem durch Tierpassage in seiner Virulenz gesteigerten Virus empfänglich. Hoffmann und Brüning gelang die Erzeugung einer spezifischen Keratitis bei
