Farinosae. — Commelinaceae. 275 fächerige Kapsel charakterisiert ist, gehört A. siniciim Lindl., eine bis i m hohe Pflanze mit entfernt stehenden, schmal linealischen Blättern und dicho- tomischen Inflorescenzen, von Sierra Leone bis Damaraland und vom Gha- salquellengebiet bis Zululand auf Uferwiesen und an Sumpfrändern, aufsteigend bis 1900 m. — Alle übrigen Arten gehören zu der durch zweifächerige Kap- seln charakterisierten Untergattung DicarpeIlaria. Das viel schwächere A. tacazzeamun Höchst, findet sich nicht bloß in der Erythrea und Abyssinien, sondern auch im Bezirk Lindi (Busse) und auf Mossambik. — Die artenreichste Sektion ist Lamproditliyros mit ellipsoidischen Kapseln.
