Fr. eine große, herabhängende Beere. Nur 1 Art, D. ceratocaula Orteg., mit weißen, außen rötlichen Bl. in Centralamerika. Nutzpflanzen. Die Bl. und S. mehrerer Arten, in Europa und Nordamerika von D. Stramonium, in Slidasien von D. alba, finden medicinische Verwendung. Beide Teile sind ausgezeichnet durch den Gehalt an Atropin (= Daturin). 750 g B. von D. Slramonium enthalten ca. 0.37 0 g Atropin. Aus Dalura alba wird in China ein Gift, Wan t'o lo hua oder Nao yang hua, bereitet. ?40. Dyssochroma Wiers. Gattung von zweifelhafler Siellung, in der Traclit sich an die Daiurcac anscl)ließend. Kelch tief öteilig, bei der Fruchlreife wahrscheinlich ver- größert. Blkr. sehr groß, trichlerig, im oberen Teile bauchig, mit ölappigem Saume. Stf. länger als die Blkr. Fr. eine Beere?. — KleUernde HalbstrUucher mit ungeteilten B., einzeln siehenden, hängenden Bl mit grünlicher Hlkr. Der Fruchtknotenbau ist nicht genau bekannt. Ungefähr 4 Arten im tropischen .\nierika.
