| Description |
English: Paddington - Cheltenham express passing Didcot. View eastward, towards Didcot Station, Reading and London; ex-GWR Paddington - Reading - Swindon - Bristol etc. main line. On the left is the line to Oxford etc., passing the Locomotive Depot (behind the Goods Yard) which is now the celebrated Great Western Railway Centre where a great collection of preserved GW locomotives are haused, several being in working condition. The 14.15 Paddington - Cheltenham in this 1959 scene is headed by Collett 'Castle' No. 5007 'Rougemont Castle'; built in 6/27 it was withdrawn in 9/62. |
