Theformer was baptized under the name of Zuane(Giovanni) Domenico Martin at the paintersinstigation on December 18, 1741, when he wasabout seventeen years of age, but died on March16, 1749. A portrait of him by his master isreported to have existed at Venice, and is supposedto have been sold in France. Nearly every Picture Gallery in Europepossesses some examples, if only minor ones, of thework of Tiepolo, and to furnish a completeaccount would not be practicable here.
