Karl, and went to Munich in1814 to study portrait painting under Langer. In1821 he was employed in Diisseldorf by PrinceFrederick of Prussia, and was afterwards engagedin painting portraits of various princely personagesin Frankfort, Berlin, and Westphalia. He died atAugsburg in 1830. THENOT, Jean Pierre, a French water-colourpainter and draughtsman, was born in Paris in 1803.His art training was obtained at the EcoledesBeaux Arts, (which he entered in 1819,) and underThibault. He first exhibited at the Salon in 1827.Much of his attention was devoted to lithography, inwhich medium he produced many landscapes, hunts,and animal subjects. He also delivered courses oflectures on anatomy and perspective, and pub-lished Essai de Perspective (1826), Cours dePerspective Pratique (1829), and Regie de laPerspective Pratique (1839). Heetched twenty-eight plates from the designs of hismaster, which are inscribed Francisqtiepinxit avecprivilege du Roy; or Francisque pinxit, Simonexcudit cum privilegio Regis. THEODORE, A , is mentioned by Strutt as the designer and engraver of a Dutch Procession,etched and retouched with the graver, in a styleresembling that of Hollar. It is dated 1636.THEODORE, Caspar. See Fuerstknbekg.THEODORICH of PRAGUE flourished be-tween 1348 and 1375. His name 6tands first inthe list of members of the Painters Guild atPrague in the year 1348; in 1359 he is mentionedas the owner of a house on the Hradschin in thatcity.
