Deutsch: Die „Dicke Marie“ ist ein offiziell anerkanntes Naturdenkmal und steht in einem Landschutzgebiet am Tegeler See, Reinickendorf-Berlin. Sie gilt als der älteste Baum der Stadt Berlin. Ihr Alter wird auf über 800 Jahre geschätzt. Der Name „Dicke Marie“ ist auf die Gebrüder Humboldt zurückzuführen, deren Schloss 500m von dem Baum entfernt bis heute steht. Angeblich erinnerte der dicke Baum die Brüder an ihre Küchenchefin.
Es handelt sich bei dem Baum um eine Stieleiche, die für den Tegeler Forst sehr typisch ist. Aufgrund ihrer Historie, des Alters und dem Titel Naturdenkmal ist die „Dicke Marie“ ein beliebtes Anlaufziel für Grundschulklassen und fördert somit das Anliegen Naturschutz bei der Reinickendorfer Bevölkerung von kleinauf. |
