Description

O Congresso Nacional recebe iluminação azul em apoio ao Dia Nacional da Pessoa com Atrofia Muscular Espinhal (AME), comemorado no dia 08 de agosto.

O objetivo é conscientizar a sociedade sobre a doença e para as necessidades não atendidas dos pacientes. A atrofia espinhal muscular é uma doença rara e degenerativa que afeta a capacidade do corpo de produzir uma proteína essencial para a sobrevivência dos neurônios motores responsáveis por movimentos vitais, como respirar, engolir e se mover. A doença não tem cura e ocorre em cerca de um entre 10 mil nascidos vivos, com diferentes graus de gravidade.
