Description
English: An aerial view of the vent shaft on Governors Island, NY, Nov. 5, shows one of three sites where dewatering operations are taking place on the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, where 86 million gallons of water are being removed for the state of New York through FEMA by a joint operation by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and others. As of Nov. 6 pumping operations are complete at 7 of 14 critical locations in NY as determined by local officials.
