[edit]DescriptionDetalj av statyn Odin av Bengt Erland Fogelberg, Nationalmuseum.jpg |
English: Photograph taken of the face and upper torso of the statue "Odin" by Bengt Erland Fogelberg. The Statue depicts the lord of the gods "Odin" from the norse mythology, with some resemblances to the roman god Jupiter and a germanic soldier. The god is depicted with beard and a helmet with the two crows Hugin and Munin. The Statue was ordered by the swedish king Karl XIV Johan in 1830, and was then donated to the Nationalmuseum by his grandson Karl XV in 1865. The Statue was, as seen in older photos, originally located in the grand entrance of the Nationalmuseum, but it can nowadays be found in the indoor sculpture garden in one of the buildings courtyards. The statue is made of Carrara marble, its length is 312 cm, (3.12 m), and it weights approximately 3055 kilograms.
