| Description |
English: Detail, Sun House, Frognal Way, Hampstead
Modernist house built in 1935/1936 to the designs of architect E. Maxwell Fry. Grade II* listed building. The purity of the building has been compromised by the filling in of the balcony space shown in this image. Today the heavy security gates have made it impossible for the passing photographer to capture a full view of the front of this stunning building, regarded by Nikolaus Pevsner (Buildings of England. London 4: North) as an "object lesson in facade composition". |
