Tendergreen: See Asgrow Stringless Green Pod. * TENDERLONG 15 A new, high-yielding green pod variety of superior quality; the result of a long program of crossing and testing at the Asgrow breeding stations, designed to retain and improve upon the features that made Tendergreen so popular, and adding resistance to disease. Extensive trials by commercial growers and at numerous experiment stations show these aims to have been attained. Length Width of pod of pod inches inches Days 5 Vr 56 V/4 3/8 50 The plant is an erect, compact bush of medium height, highly productive and resistant to common, New York No. 15 and pod mottle viruses and to at least one form of powdery mildew; with considerable tolerance to halo blight. The pods are round and straight, with color a pleasing dark shade of bean green; meaty, stringless and fiberless, of excellent flavor and quality for use fresh, frozen or canned. Seed purplish black, dull, not shiny, mottled with buff: 75 per oz. * Suitable for quick freezing.
