Description
English: This sign, located in the Papakura Old School Meeting Hall, reads:

Papakura School Honours Board The Bell and the Drum This Honours Board which carries the names of the Duxes of Papakura District School was presented in 1939 by Duncan Mclennan, grandson of the first farmer in Papakura. With the establishment of Papakura Intermediate School in 1961, the honour of Dux was no longer awarded at the Papakura Primary School. The ringing of the bell was the reward for good behaviour. After assembling outside the pupils marched into the school to the beat of the Drum. These artifacts have been made available by Papakura + Districts Historical Society on long term loan for display in the Old Central School
