Description
Deutsch: 1802 hatte Nördlingen seinen Status als Freie Reichsstadt verloren und war zu einer bayerischen Landstadt geworden. Für diese gab es in der damaligen Zeit eine Neuerung: Die Stadt musste ein Bürgermilitär samt Wachhaus und Paradeplatz aufstellen.So entstand 1810 das Wachhaus auf dem Obstmarkt. Es wurde vom Major, Stadtrat und Sonnenwirt Johann Sophonias Brechenmacher infolge eines Tauschgeschäftes mit der Stadt errichtet - der Wirt des Gasthauses Sonne hatte von der Stadt das alte Wachhaus und das Zollhaus erhalten.
