Description Der Hochaltar wurde aus Marmor und vergoldeten Bronzeornamenten durch die Gebrüder Aglio geschaffen. Darüber befindet sich das Altargemälde, 1752–1761 vom Dresdner Hofmaler Anton Raphael Mengs geschaffen, das die Himmelfahrt Jesu Christi darstellt und mit 10 Metern Höhe und 4,50 Metern Breite beachtliche Ausmaße besitzt. Der Rahmen des Altargemäldes wurde durch den Hofgaleriebildhauer Joseph Deibel geschaffen.
