English: Ambassador Tina Kaidanow (left), deputy ambassador to Afghanistan, U.S. Embassy in Kabul; and Lt. Gen. Keith Huber (right), commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, tour the perimeter of the Detention Facility in Parwan and discuss future construction plans for the facility Oct. 9, 2012. Kaidanow toured the DFIP and the Justice Center in Parwan to gain a better understanding of the strategic-level mission performed there as well as gain a firsthand knowledge of the Afghan legal system. The tour was guided by Huber, Brig. Gen. Ural Glanville, commander, Rule of Law Field Force-Afghanistan, and Col. Robert Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 oversees all detainee operations in Afghanistan. RoLFF-A works to build the capacity of the Afghan Justice sector by partnering with Afghan Rule of Law actors at the Provincial and District levels. Task Force Protector personnel ensure the secure and humane care, custody and control of the detainees within the DFIP. |
