Summary
[edit]DescriptionDeptford Creek Lift Bridge (geograph 4251998).jpg |
English: Deptford Creek Lift Bridge This is from an old print so I'm not sure when it was taken. It shows the disused lift bridge which used to raise up a section of railway for boats navigating Deptford Creek. It looks like I must have taken it from a Docklands Railway train as that's the only mid river viewpoint. Update:- As stated above, the date of this picture is uncertain.. I got this e-mail which helps home in on a year. "This photo was taken before construction of DLR possibly late 80s. The power station (chimney framed by bridge) was demolished in 1991/2. Was likely taken from a boat in the Creek" I have put a date on it as 1990, but that is an approximate. |
