English: Departmental Coach at Wembley I.C.
Stored in a shed at Wembley Intercity Depot, this coach, former BR Mark 1 Brake Second Open No.9225, was being used by the depot engineer at the time to act as a barrier vehicle when moving stock about the yard. The Departmental No. of the coach at this time was ADB 977135. Since this photo was taken, the coach was purchased for preservation by Northampton & Lamport Railway, where it was based from 1991 to 2008 when it was moved to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where it is now in service. |
