[edit]DescriptionDenver & Rio Grande Western No. 5771 - November 2012 - 2.jpg |
English: This is a General Motors Electro-Motive Division F-9 diesel locomotive (A unit) on display at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado. It was built in 1955 and used by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad on freight trains and passenger trains from Colorado to Utah and back. This engine was also used to lead ski trains in the Front Range of Colorado's Rocky Mountains for several months in the late 1983-early 1984 winter season. The unit was retired in 1984 and was donated to the museum by Southern Pacific Lines in 1996. |
