Description
Deutsch: Wenige Tage vor Ende des Krieges, am 31. März 1945, hatten sich italienische Kriegsgefangene aus einem verlassenen Güterzug Lebensmittel geholt, da sie keine Verpflegung erhalten hatten. Ähnliches hatten auch Deutsche zur selben Zeit getan. Ein Denunziant fand sich und meldete den Vorfall. Stunden später wurden 79 Unschuldige – ein Russe und 78 Italiener – von einem Kommando der Kasseler Gestapo auf dem Gelände des Bahnhofs Wilhelmshöhe ermordet.

Nach Kriegsende wurden die Leichen exhumiert und auf dem Friedhof Wehlheiden bestattet. Die drei aufgestellten Grabsteine verschwanden allerdings, der Verbleib ist unbekannt.
