Summary
[edit]DescriptionDenco yellow coil.jpg |
Once a familiar sight for radio hobbyists, a 'Denco' brand coil. These pre-wound coils came on colour coded formers to indicate their purpose and frequency range. They were a common means for building AM radios from LW to SW in the 1960s and 1970s. They were sold in an aluminium shipping can that could be re-used as a shielding can. They were replaced in the 1970s by smaller pre-wound coils from Toko, in smaller rectangular cans. |
