Summary

[edit]
Description

Voorhout | Lange Voorhout The city palace was built for W.T.A.M. Baron van Brielen van de Groote Lindt, a personal adviser to King William III who often stayed in The Hague. Arch. Arend Roodenburg 1858

The palace underwent a four-year refurbishment and was opened on May 1, 1881. It got the current name inspired by the then famous Hotel des Indes in Batavia in the hope of attracting travelers from the Dutch East Indies.
