Summary

[edit]
Description
English: “Flying Laptops”, is when Technology and Theology become integrated. Where we become text. When we become the architects of our time. We become our choice. We become art. Islam and technology have always been an integral part of my work. This work suggests that no matter how we progress in life we always need to progress more towards the knowledge and understanding of our one God. In 1993 when for the first time I sat in front of a computer being connected to the information highway, from Los Angeles, from my own room, from my own chair, seated on a Persian rug was the time I could not help to be reminded of the flying carpet, a children’s story my grandma told me one night. A carpet which could from your own room fly you to lands and universes you could never imagine. Thirty years latter I was just doing that seated on my carpet yet connected to information that without the flying carpets would not be possible. “Flying Laptops” celebrates my many integrated cultures.
