Summary
[edit]DescriptionDelhi Qutub Minar complex - two green parrots (44569274751).jpg |
two green parrots some say: Alexandrine Parakeet and Rose-ringed Parakeet reside in the area blog.mountain-plover.com/2017/12/18/birding-india-lodhi-g... In north-west India, Indian rose-ringed parakeets form pairs from September to December. They do not have life mates and often breed with another partner during the following breeding season. During this cold season, they select and defend nest sites, thus avoiding competition for sites with other birds. Feeding on winter pea crops provides the female with nutrients necessary for egg production. From April to June, they care for their young. Fledgings are ready to leave the nest before monsoon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose-ringed_parakeet#Reproduction Rose-ringed Parakeet is considered by some to be the worst avian pest in its native range. It is a major crop pest in India, damaging grain products and fruits and, in one study, reducing the yield of maize crops by up to 81%. It is also a pest of sunflower, dates and other fruit orchard crops. www.europe-aliens.org/speciesFactsheet.do?speciesId=50460# 2015in01-1dlh_063cut |
