heritage listed house in Liverpool, New South Wales

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "Del Rosa" is a heritage listed house at 7 Speed Street in Liverpool, New South Wales.

This building is a Inter-War Spanish Mission substantial single-storey house. It is located on a large corner site not far from the city centre. Built to an irregular shaped plan, the house is constructed of brick with external stucco finish (lightly textured) from the ground to the underside of the tiles/eaves. The large, square chimney also has a stuccoed finish. The building features two symmetrical gables on different elevations. Each gable has shaped corbels, a central cartouche ornament and three arched openings. The Spanish Mission flavour of the place is accentuated by the rounded tile verge capping to each gable. The roof is clad with Marseilles pattern terracotta tiles; windows have rectangular projecting sills and original wrought iron balustrades exist at the entry steps on the eastern side, and the narrow, bracketted balconette at the south-facing gable. The front bounary fence, wrought iron gates, and a separate garage structure at the rear of the property all complement the style and character of the house.
