Summary
[edit]DescriptionDefinitely not Lilliputian (geograph 4819486).jpg |
English: Definitely not Lilliputian. Dennis Lillee - one of Australia's (and Cricket's) greatest fast bowlers - descends the steps of the old Players' Pavilion at Headingley during the 1981 Ashes Test. At the height of his powers, in tandem with Geoff Thompson, he terrorised England's batsmen with his hostility and accuracy. (Some credit Thompson as being the fastest bowler in cricket history with deliveries approaching 100mph.) The Players' Pavilion was later demolished when Headingley was redeveloped. |
