View southward, towards Sheffield: ex-GCR Sheffield Victoria etc. - Penistone - Woodhead Tunnel - Manchester main line, electrified 6/54 but closed to through passenger trains 5/1/70, to goods 20/7/81; passenger services Sheffield - Deepcar - Barnsley Junction - Penistone ceased and line closed completely 16/5/83, but goods branch to Stocksbridge - hidden here behind bushes on the right, remains. |
