The Vista House was built in 1918 at Crown Point. The building honors Oregon pioneers and serves as a comfort station for travellers on the Columbia River Highway. At 733 feet above the Columbia River, it provides magnificient views of the area, including Beacon Rock. Some early Oregonians called it the "$100,000 Outhouse."
