Description
Paper and ink; Souvenir of the Dedicatory Ceremonies of the Indiana State Building at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago 1893. Fifteen pages braided with thread binding. Illustrated with images including the Indiana building and interior. The dedication of the Indiana Building at the Columbian Exposition took place of June 15, 1893. Ex-President Benjamin Harrison was present for the dedication and spoke at the ceremony. The first page shows the image of the Indiana Building done by William B. Burford, printer, Indianapolis. The Book contains: Program of Exercise, Board of World's Fair Managers of Indiana / List of Committees, Prayer Offered by the Rev. H. A. Gobin, D. D., Presentation of Keys of Building to President Studebaker, Acceptance of Keys of Building by President Studebaker, Speech of Gov. Claude Matthews, Address of Ex-President Benjamin Harrison, Women's Contribution to the Fair, The Resources and Progress of Indiana, Presentation of Flag to the Commission, by Perry D. Creager on behalf of the School Children of Kendallville Indiana, and Acceptance of Flag by Governor Claude Matthews on behalf of the Commission.
