Summary

[edit]
Description

Sometimes described as a nomadic species, the white-faced ibis is relatively new to the Kulm Wetland Management District. While populations are healthy and there have always been ibises nearby in South Dakota, seeing them in McIntosh, Logan, LaMoure, and Dickey counties was rare until the last three years. Groups of these birds are now frequently seen wading and probing for food in shallow wetlands.
