Summary

[edit]
Description Abul Hasan Qutb Shah, also known as Tana Shah, was the 8th and last Sultan of this dynasty. He was imprisoned when the Mughuls under Aurangzeb came to power in 1687, marking the beginning of the Nizam dynasty of Hyderabad which lasted until independence. The Hope Diamond and other large diamonds from the Golconda mines are said to have been taken from Abul Hasan by Aurangzeb.
