Photo taken during protest against proposed £20bn cuts and privatisation of parts of the UK National Health Service. Photo.. March 4th at Parliament Square in Westminster; Central London. Many countries think we have a free health care system in the UK but it has been paid for through people's wage contributions for the last 100 years (Roughly). Similar to private health care insurance... Mandatory until retirement or if you are unable to work through health issues Workers in the UK have paid a percentage of their wage incomes into a National Insurance Contribution fund held by the UK Government for distribution to the various health system organisations doctors - hospitals etc.. |
