English: Deady's Castle Galley Head The ruins of this Barry Roe castle stand near to the cliffs of Galley Head. It was built around 1215 on the site of an earlier fort, and had one of the strongest defensive positions in West Cork, being completely surrounded by cliffs and sea, accessible only by a small causeway. |
