Description
English: c/n 06030.

Built 1956. Originally intended to be G-AMXH for British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), but when the order was cancelled the aircraft was diverted to the Royal Air Force as a Comet C.2 with the British military serial XK695. Delivered in 1956 and operated with 216 Sqadron as a 44 seat transport, she was later converted for electronic intelligence (ELINT) duties by Marshalls of Cambridgeand became a Comet C.2(R). Returned to service after conversion in 1963, she operated with 51 Squadron until replaced by the Nimrod R.1 fleet in 1974. Flown in to Duxford during 1975, she remained on display with the Imperial War Museum until deemed unsafe due to corrosion and dismantled in 1992. The nose was donated to the museum in 1995 by Hanningford metals. de Havilland Aircraft Museum, Salisbury Hall, London Colney, UK.
