On Thursday [24 June 1954] evening, at 18:35, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince Consort of Queen Elizabeth II of England, landed at the local airfield in his self-piloted aircraft. Immediately after landing, he travelled on in a Mercedes, accompanied by several vehicles, in the direction of Bad Mergentheim. The Duke visits his sisters, who live in Germany (on Lake Constance).
