In a chapelright of the principal entrance is the tomb of Count Hay-mon, who is said to have built the church in honor of avictory over a two-headed dragon, and who died on hisreturn from a pilgrimage to Italy seven years after itsfoundation. In the same chapel is the monument of ESSONNES 285 Jacques de Bourgoin, who founded the College of Corbeilin 1661. The curious shrine of St. Spire was melteddown at the Revolution. In the collegiate buildings Abe-lard established his school, when he fled from Melun. Nothing remains of the church of St. Jean de IErmi-tage, which contained the relics of Sts.
