| Description |
English: The sea wall at Dawlish, Devon, England. A footpath was provided alongside the South Devon Railway between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren when it was constructed in the 1840s. The residents of a terrace that overlooked the sea objected to people being able to see their houses, and so this short section is at a much lower level than the remainder of the path, but as a result is covered by water during high tides. The footpath now forms a part of the 630 mile South West Coast Path. |
