English: Up 'Devonian' express at Dawlish sea-front. View southward, towards Teignmouth, Newton Abbot etc.; ex-GWR Exeter etc - Newton Abbot - Plymouth - Penzance main line. The 08.40 Kingswear - Bradford (Forster Square) 'Devonian', headed by 'Castle' 4-6-0 No. 5055 'Earl of Eldon' (built 6/36 as 'Lydford Castle', renamed 8/37, withdrawn 9/64), gets little attention from the people relaxing at the seaside - such trains were passing every few minutes on a Summer Saturday. |
