Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Davis House, located at the Mountain Farm Museum was built in 1900 from American Chestnut which was plentiful in the area before the chestnut blight decimated the species during the 1930s and early 1940s. This view of one of the back corners of the house shows the half dovetail notches that join the logs making up the walls. The Mountain Farm Museum is a collection of farm buildings gathered from throughout the Smoky Mountains. It is adjacent to the Oconaluftee Visitor Center, and is located approximately 2 miles from Cherokee North Carolina.
