English: The current (since 1961) main Clan Davidson tartan, in the "modern" colour palette, rendered with a doubled thread count for clarity (as would be done with this tartan when woven for a kilt). This image is extactly full-sett and can be tiled horizontally and vertically (it also upscales nicely to 200% to better show the weave, though it is not entirely photorealistic). Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this pattern: "Recorded [by the Lord Lyon] in the Public Register of All Arms & Bearings in Scotland 44/89 on 27th July 1961 by Sir David Davidson of Alltdinnie. Scottish Tartans Society noted that D. C. Stewart called this sett 'the more recent' Davidson and the basis for the Henderson tartan. It was included in Old and Rare Scottish Tartans by D. W. Stewart (1893), with a woven sample in silk. This version of the Davidson tartan omits the white stripe of the earlier setts recorded by the Highland Society of London and in the Moy Hall collection."
