Summary
[edit]DescriptionDashwood, a house by the canal in Halton Village - geograph.org.uk - 1336891.jpg |
English: Dashwood, a house by the canal in Halton Village The name of this house presumably relates to the fact that Sir Francis Dashwood became Lord of the Manor of Halton in the early 18th century, and the manor remained in the family until it was purchased by Baron Lionel de Rothschild in 1851 http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=62783 .
My impression is that the woodwork on the front and back is mock tudor rather than the real thing. |
