Deutsch: [Originalbeschreibung] Das Theater gelegen auf dem Platze wo ehmals die Domprobstei stand; aufgeführt im römischen Style, wurde erbaut in den Jahren 1820 bis 1833. Es waren Verfertiger des Planes: der Hofbaudirektor Moller aus Darmstadt; Leiter des Baues: der Kreisbaumeister Peter Wetter mit seinem Bruder Gustav Wetter von Mainz; N.Usinger Zimmermaler und Stukaturer von Mainz dekorirte das Auditorium, die Gebrüder Orth von Stuttgart und Schmittspahn und Schilbach von Darmstadt malten die Decorationen. Der Großh. Hess. Hof-Opern-Theater-Maschinerie-Meister Dorn in Darmstadt verfertigte die Maschinerien. Die Gesammtkosten betrugen an 270000 bis 280000 Gulden. |
